Hi Dror - I'm also a FOYF (fan of your foto's!) and style, but I think the above really does nail it, particularly the comment about the fact that many portfolio's are shot over a 5 hour period, with professional models, make up/hair... and the bride just doesn't understand the kind of pressure and timing that's involved, or that the phrase 'the best laid plans of mice and men.....' really comes into play. Most grooms are terrified of having their pix taken, and my biggest challenge is turning 'Farmers Weekly' into 'Mens Health' on the day. Love your list... great advice!

@Audrey - I think Jacques Henri Lartigue said it best in his advice for aspiring photographers. "eat the right foods (small quantities); appreciate good music; enjoy silences; sleep well; love God."

someone else that springs to mind is Steve McCurry whose very famous advice to aspiring photographers was "If you want to be a photographer, you have to photograph." The only thing I would add to that is that when you are done photographing, photograph some more. Its the only way to learn to appreciate color and composition and how light translated into a two dimensional medium. Both these photographers have said it more eloquently than I can.

@Mario, @Michael, @Wenchy - always glad to amused and lighten the mood.

@Everyone, feel free to add your own things to look for, in the comments.

Hi Dror. I actually saw Andrea's site first and she mentioned you as being her photography mentor. All I could say is that your photographs are great. I wish I could take photos as well as you someday. Right now I'm just an aspiring photographer just trying to learn as much as I could in this field of wedding photography. I was wondering if you have any advice for aspiring wedding photographers like myself. Again, I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog. It's very inspiring.
