Not a lot of words this week, we’re way deep in wedding season. The weather is starting to turn a bit and today is getting that chilly feeling that means we’re going to have a cold winter. It’s getting harder and harder to motivate myself to get up before the bear who does not seem to mind getting up before the sun rises.
I shot Marli and Wihann’s Pretoria Country Club wedding earlier this year, chilled, vintage, two people who are into their heritage and just enjoy being who they are. So we dodged some wayward golf balls, I think I was a bit more nervous about the car than they were, but I’d spotted a perfect stretch of road that I wanted to use for their shoot, not realising it was right next to the driving range. I do like the Pretoria Country Club, it has attitude … the good kind, and a sense of history. I like that. It also has a youngish chef with serious facial hair and a sense of humour – and holy batman can he ( or whoever worked on the lamb ) cook. Marli’s dress, part architecture, part couture, and the sixteen piece swing band didn’t hurt either.
