Nicole and Marc at Tintswalo
It rained on Saturday, not one of those five second Johannesburg showers, but a grey-out-the-sky-bring-in-the-thunder-clouds kind of rain. I love these kind of days, heavy clouds mean the kind of soft beautiful lighting that makes everything look like it was shot in the 1950s. The bright South African sun just kills me every time.
Saturday’s wedding kind of reminded me of a Fellini film – yes, I’m still not getting much sleep, and late night movies are still a staple of my life. Add a self-confessed tomboy bride, a killer bee dress by JULIAN, some badass pageboys, lots of tattoos, some piercings, a father of the bride who looked and sang like he should have been in the rat pack, some cool jazz sounds from a live band, a venue we haven’t been to before, loads of candles, couches, smokers, and of course the rain. Perfect.
The morning after a wedding, usually only having had a couple of hours of sleep, V and I head out for breakfast. Something greasy with a lot of Tabasco for me, while V tends to show me up by having something healthy, plenty of coffee before we head back to look through the previous night’s shoot. Last week, in my half asleep state I smiled at our waiter and saw that his name tag said Hello My Name is Terror, a couple of coffees later – after calling him Terror for most of the 45 minutes we were there – I noticed that it actually said, Hello My Name is Trevor. Oh well. Yesterday our waiter’s name was Remarkable. Nice.

killer bee or what?

serious rain, beautiful light

I love that look her dad is giving her

We try to show different things on the blog, rather than the same stuff every week, I quite like this one of Nicole and Marc’s entrance.

I was quite tempted to only post dancing images from this wedding

I’ve had a request for more pics from each wedding. Its kind of hard because I don’t want to post hundreds of images which are only of interest to the bride and groom and their immediate family, but at the same time we do get quite a few killer images which no-one except the couple and their friends get to see.
