Housekeeping

Recently a couple of people have sent in emails asking why I don’t show more photos of the wedding party on the blog or on the sneak peaks and why I don’t show all the weddings.

The reason is pretty simple. The contract that the couple signs doubles as a model release for the individuals getting married. So although all copyright for the photos resides with the photographer as per South African law, the images themselves may not be used for commercial purposes without a model release i.e. no recognizable photos of anyone who did not sign a model release. Since the blog and this website fall under the category of promoting my services, and weddings fall under private functions, I try not to publish any images which do not have appropriate model releases.

Lastly, some couples have asked that we do not publish their photos online. They have their reasons and in some cases their publicists have their reasons. We try to accomodate everyone’s requests.

You may have also noticed that we are switching the blog to a wider format in order to accomodate bigger images. After doing a bit of research, it turns out that less than 10% of our visitors see the site in 800*600 – the rest do so in glorious 1024 * ???? and bigger. Let me know if you hate it.

These images are protected by copyright, no use of any images shall be granted without the written permission from Dror Eyal Photography.
