Hindu wedding ceremony – Shivanee and Indiran

I overslept and didn’t get a chance to post Shivanee and Indiran’s amazing wedding until this afternoon. I don’t have an excuse, just kind of stayed up late rediscovering, and falling in love again with one of my favorite photographer’s works. A mental note to myself to photograph V a lot more. The big black camera doesn’t seem to get much exercise these days unless there’s a wedding.

Hindu weddings are a lot of work as a photographer, don’t let anyone kid you. If you’re looking to specialize in Indian wedding photography it’s a different ballgame altogether. A lot more people on that stage to keep an eye on, a longer set of events to document and of course all of those amazing colors that if you are not careful will start to bleed into each other and turn your photo into a chaotic mess. Luckily we’ve shot a couple of Hindu weddings, all stunning events of tradition and family, and this weekend’s wedding ceremony at Gold Reef City was a riot of color and emotion. Add a gorgeous bride and Indiran looking suave as beans and we were in our element. Bringing a touch of edginess and documentary style to a rocking wedding ceremony. You guys seem to agree and the photos we posted on Facebook have rapidly become our most viewed and ‘liked’ album since we started our Facebook page.

A quick shout out to Lyn Kennedy who was our make-up artist for the day. I’ve mentioned Lyn before on this blog. She is a rockstar in her own right and whenever I walk into the bridal prep room and see Lyn there I know that the makeup is going to rock. She’s put makeup on some of the biggest names in this country and her editorial work is regularly featured just about everywhere.
