Flare Part II

Morning – apologies for the odd auto-reply on my mail for the last couple of days. I had a bad flare up of the mystery illness on Saturday, and have been out for the last couple of days. I’m back and going through all the emails.

very little news on my end:
I’m embarrassed to say to say that I don’t even know which language I should learn to read this blog – but I’m totally addicted and I suspect that the fact that I can’t read it is not that bad (also check out this book – how cool is that). Also worth a look – so very achingly Japanese.
I’ve finally gotten around to ordering an original print of Dorothea Lange’s famous “Migrant Mother“. That photo has haunted me from when I was a student at Rhodes.
I also put in a bid on this beauty, I’m trying very hard not to convert $/ZAR or to think about the shipping.
Oh, and Jen Huang has braved my spiny and negative comments about photographers emailing me and sent me a very cool email. I’m really enjoying her use of space, especially that one photo of the family on the beach.

and a cool quote to end off with for the week … “The value to accepting a photograph of yourself as you are is that you’re accepting the reality of who you are, and how you look, and accepting yourself that way, warts and all. I think the pictures you hate say as much about you as pictures you love.” from Alan D. Entin
