We’ve been trying to network with other wedding photographers, co-ordinators and venue owners in South Africa for the last two years and some have been very nice while others have been quite offish. It has been very frustrating as there is a severe lack of resources amongst the local photography scene and this has been a comment that we have heard over and over from various photographers. This lack of information sharing has also meant that have imported most of our gear and resources as overseas photographers tend to be more open.
On the other hand we’ve also been getting some very nice emails recently from fellow photographers. A few odd ones thrown in there, and some people who seriously need to sleep a bit more. What can we say, we’re flattered and blushing and all that other stuff. Nothing like opening one’s mail to a compliment to start the day.
I actually just wanted to say that if you are a photographer who is looking for information about the local scene you are more than welcome to ask us questions about our shooting techniques or photoshop. No need to pose as a bride or groom : )
