I think the last time I was in East London was when I was a student at Rhodes, we used to drive the 170 odd kilometers from Grahamstown to East London because they had KFC in East London. Of course these days we have a KFC about five minutes away from the studio. I don’t recall ever going to that one.
So stepping off the flight from Joburg I was a bit homesick for my student days, the days when you got five of your friends squashed into a tiny car for two hours because you were craving KFC … and no, this wasn’t a Harold and Kumar moment, we were just after something deep fried.
Zimbini and Tim’s wedding was of those affairs where firstly everyone seemed to have multiple PhDs, MBA’s, and a serious penchant for having fun. A super chilled jazz band called Voodoo, some feta and olive artisinal bread, a autumn leaf covered floor, a praise singer, some serious dancing, and a really photogenic color scheme from Otto De Jager Events.
Here are some pics from their reception – winter is here with a vengeance, it’s getting colder, I’m getting lazier at blogging, but you can see a whole lot more photos from their super relaxed East London, Gonubie wedding on our facebook page.
