Back in Mauritius, at the One&Only Le Saint Géran, a beautiful sunny day with just a hint of cloud above the Hindu temple to the west of the hotel. Chloe is getting ready at the salon, I’m pretty sure Tom is having a few drinks somewhere. Two hours later we’ll be waiting for the officiant to arrive, the sky will have clouded over with one of those tropical storms that seem to turn the sky black and disappear within a couple of minutes. I have to admit I’m slightly worried, the light is fading fast even for someone with a serious liking for cumulonimbus clouds, the big fat drops of rain aren’t helping either. Chloe, who by the way, wins the award for the calmest bride known to mankind (CBKTM), and V decide to do the portrait shoot while there is still light and we’re waiting for the officiant to arrive. So Chloe walks down to the beach with bridesmaids and a couple of umbrellas, Tom spots her, his face lights up and the sun starts to peek through the dark clouds, lighting up the beach in the most magical light that you only seem to get a few minutes before the mother of all tropical storms sets in.
V and I start shooting, a couple of rain drops land on the lens, but the big black camera is weatherproof and besides I quite liked the effect. Twelve minutes later the officiant arrives and we decide that we have enough killer bee images and it’s time to get these two married. We get them back to the beach, and the rain stops … this rain is just messing with my head … everyone grabs a chair and the outside area is recreated. The sun starts to set behind the palm trees and turns the afternoon in a tableaux straight out of a screensaver. Pretty damn amazing.
Someone mentioned on our facebook page that we seem to have the most beautiful clients, we do, it’s their wedding day. Tom and Chloe were also the nicest people and we are really grateful to have met them and been able to shoot their wedding.
Right, onto the images, as always you can see more from Tom and Chloe’s killer bee, super stormy wedding day on our facebook page.

I love this one of Tom and the musicians watching the storm gathering

You can see more from Tom and Chloe’s killer bee, super stormy wedding day on our facebook page. I also spotted a video of the wedding on youtube, interesting to see the images being made and then seeing the actual images, for me anyway.
I recently read a tweet by our friend @skinnderella “You know you travel too much when, at a hotel in PTA, while brushing your teeth for a moment you wonder if you can drink the water” – reminded me of when we were in Trogir and I woke up hungover in the middle of the night, stumbled to the bathroom and had a couple of glasses of water, kind of vaguely remembering that V had told me not to drink the water. The water had tasted pretty grim, but my hangover was worse. In the morning I noticed I had drunk out of the toothbrush holder.
