Day of the Living Midgets

Friday, May 30th, 2008

This Saturday will be forever known as the day the midgets arrived at the Eyal household. Yep, we had them all; we had Ms Lula Bell, Zack The Man, Ollie, The Terminator and Jakey … Elliefish couldn’t make it, but sent her regrets and an invite for coffee. We are still picking up the pieces. It was a blast having you all over (meant to be read any which way you wish), and getting a chance to see supermom at work. I fell asleep watching The Bee Movie.

f/8 at 1/250

Friday, January 25th, 2008

This one is for all the photographers, wannabee photographers and other interesting people who read this blog.

In a recent edition of a photography mag that shall not be named I saw a double page spread for the Canon 40D, the image was of a fantastic sunset, the payoff line … I gaze at the sunset with the woman I love, and think … f/8 at 1/250 …

If that’s you, maybe its time to try another f-stop. f/8 has no real personality.

If you’re not a photographer, we’ll be returning to our regular diet of beautiful brides in amazing venues next week. This weekend will be another Summerplace affair.

2008 and the world’s cutest kids

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Well, we are still recovering from visiting the Carlyle’s, who may have the world’s cutest kids, and are a general blast to hang out with. Try to imagine the chaos of a braai with kids, water pistols, pools, slides, too many photographers and way too much sun. New Year’s eve was fairly mild in comparison.

Studio News

I am feverishly working on the new site and new portfolio, so stay tuned for the next episode.
The new set of photoshop actions and textures is almost ready to go out. If you signed up for the updates you’ll receive an email as soon as they go live. All actions are available for a limited time period only.
We are no longer accepting any commissions for the first six months of 2008, if you are looking at getting married between late June and early November now is the time to confirm your booking. We have also had to cut down on the amount of weddings we are taking on this year. All will be revealed soon.
I have bought EatOut2008 and intend to eat my way through it this year, I also hope to stick to my diet so go figure. Ok, not exactly studio news.

What’s a post without any photos? I was going to add a pic of the grown up Carlyles but I’m fairly sure Andrea has some pretty incriminating pics of myself, so instead some pics of the world’s cutest kids.

Christmas @ Letamo Game Estate

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

We’re back, slowly recovering from overindulging and what could only be described as a turkey coma. Xmas day was filled with fun, family and loads of kids, as it should be. I’ll diet in the new year.

We ended up taking a slow walk around the Game Reserve where we were visiting, in the manner of those who had overindulged

Travelling to Destination Weddings

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

We have quite a few destination weddings booked for next year Mauritius, Botswana, London and a couple of others in the Cape and the Natal Midlands. They all have one thing in common, the only way to economically get there is by flying. I recently worked out that this year we have been in the air for almost 284 hours, that’s about 12 days of flying. There’s really only one way to get through that much turbulence and adrenaline, yep, pull out the camera and shoot a modeling session with the air stewardesses. Failing that try to inject some creativity into a genre of photography that has been done to death by just about everyone – shooting out of a plane’s window.
