Dog Day Evening

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

We’ve been to a couple of weddings this year that have featured dogs. I think they add a nice touch of chaos and quirkiness to the day, and they are a part of many families. These guys were a bundle of fun to photograph and headed home after having their pics taken. Only one was well behaved, but they all posed very nicely, and smiled on cue.

A while back we did a shoot for the South African Guide-Dogs Association’s 2010 calendar. They’re taking orders for it at the moment, so if you want to get a gorgeously photographed calendar, and support a good cause, drop Laura an email at laura.guidedog[at]gmail.com.
and a shout out to Roberta Crumplin at Big Day Big Picture for organising everything.

Kim and Aidan at the Helderfontein Country Estate

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

V and I were in action this weekend at the Helderfontein Country Estate. Beautiful weather, beautiful couple and a sense of friends and family gathered together to celebrate. The venue, the day, everything had a sense of a classic wedding in an old world country estate, right down to the family dogs and the venue’s horses running in the background. It was only the amazing late afternoon light that made stopped me from shooting everything in black and white.

Kim, Aidan, thank you both for welcoming us, for your good humour and the infectious joy that you brought to the entire day – I tried to make the pics look serious and classic, but your happiness sneaks into everything, even the pics. No serious faces here. Enjoy your super secret honeymoon.
