A Photo Reader

Andrea forwarded me a mail today stating that the celebrity blogging and non-blogging judges have been announced for the sa blog awards. Given that they will most probably be reading this blog at some point – I thought I’d say hi and point them at some really cool photography blogs.

Max Gerber’s – The Latest Shot: Beautiful work, his images of Uncle Howard are inspiring. Kind of remind me of Richard Avedon’s photos of Jacob Israel (his father). Both these sets of images really resonate with me and make me wish I had made some images of my grandfather. Max’s work is always superb.

Jonathan Saunders’ – i like to tell stories: a close-up look at someone who knows that photography isn’t something you do with a camera but something you do with your entire being.

Bitter Photographer: “It is so great that you even considered me to shoot this can of soda on white. I can really see how my images i spent 10 years working on of dieing AIDS patients make me perfect for this shoot”. Nuff said.

A Photo Editor: This one seems to be de rigueur in the photoblogosphere at the moment, kind of like Conscientious was a while back or is it still?

Lastly there is Tokyo Blog which makes me wish I could read french.

Suspiciously none of these were nominated for blog awards.
