Haha. Loved this line - "There's nothing worse than taking an amazing photo and finding out that the groom blinked at just that moment. Grooms are psychic that way, but they don't often get it right three times in a row." At high school we had a photographer lady who used to cover all our events - she would make us smile and then fiddle around with her camera for 10 minutes until everyone's smiles faded to half cranky resentful grimaces. It was awful! As you can imagine, most of her shots were over-posed and lifeless. I think the photojournalistic approach you mentioned ends up with the best results. I noticed you revamped your site a bit - very nice!

Hi Dror - I'm also a FOYF (fan of your foto's!) and style, but I think the above really does nail it, particularly the comment about the fact that many portfolio's are shot over a 5 hour period, with professional models, make up/hair... and the bride just doesn't understand the kind of pressure and timing that's involved, or that the phrase 'the best laid plans of mice and men.....' really comes into play. Most grooms are terrified of having their pix taken, and my biggest challenge is turning 'Farmers Weekly' into 'Mens Health' on the day. Love your list... great advice!

O.M.G. - what a fantastic wedding! beautifull, personal and simply to the point. What an amazing setting - you can hear the silence and feel the peace from the photos - with such an intimate and meaningfull ceremony I a sure the couple will keep memories and emotions from this day that most couples can not keep because they are too busy wit the wedding day hustle. Makes you think, this is all weddings should be about.
